As a foster family with young kids, I have scoured the internet looking for good foster care books that align with our beliefs, are informative, relatable, and kid friendly. Let me tell you, it is not an easy task! BUT, I have made a list of my top 4 foster care children’s books! Check them out and let me know what you think! What would you add to this list??
1.We Are A Foster Family
This is a sweet book about a young boy whose family becomes a foster family. We Are A Foster Family encourages children to share the love of Jesus through fostering, explains some foster care terms on a level young kids can easily understand, and is a fun read for both the child and the parent! 2.Isaiah’s New Foster Sister
Isaiahs New Foster Sister shows both the excitement and hardship of welcoming a new foster sibling into your home. My son loves this sweet book about a boy named Isaiah and his family who is welcoming a new foster sibling into their home. It walks the reader through what getting a new foster placement might look like. Find it here!

3.Who Loves Series
The Who Loves series is written specifically for children experiencing foster care. It has three books in its series, Who Loves Baby?, Who Loves Me?, and I Am Loved, each is geared toward a different age group. Therefore, if you are a foster family, you need these books on hand! 4.Why Are We A Foster Family
Why Are We A Foster Family answers tough questions asked by a biological child whose family fosters.
